About Waypoint / Our team

Meet our Leaders.

Meet the people who lead, care for, and serve our church in Colorado Springs.

Preach and teach Scripture, shepherd the congregation through the joys and hardships of life, and equip the church to love our neighbors and share the good news of Jesus with those who do not yet know him. As co-pastors, Wade and Steve lead collaboratively alongside Waypoint’s ruling elders, helping our church find renewal in Christ and live on mission.

Pastor · Teaching Elder

Steve Stanton

Steve helped plant Waypoint in 2021 after serving in the Air Force and completing seminary. He loves helping people see how the gospel brings rest and renewal to ordinary life—and sends us to love our neighbors. Outside church, he enjoys roasting coffee, gardening, and exploring Colorado with his family.

Wade Savant

Wade came to Waypoint after years of ministry in Bolivia, Prague, and Edinburgh, where he served a local church and ministry leaders. Those experiences deepened his love for the local church and God’s mission across cultures. He enjoys reading, exploring new places, and spending time with friends and family.

Our staff coordinates worship, kids’ ministry, and outreach. They equip volunteers and help our church care for one another and our neighbors.

Waypoint / Our Officers

Our Officers

We are led by leaders elected from our congregation and appointed by the session

As a Presbyterian church, Waypoint is led by elders who share responsibility for shepherding the congregation and guiding the church. Steve and Wade serve as teaching elders alongside our ruling elders, while our staff support ministry week to week. Our diaconal team coordinates practical care and mercy, and the Women’s Care Team partners with the elders to care for women and bring their perspective to church leadership.

Elders

Our elders shepherd and oversee Waypoint together. They pray for and care for the congregation, guard the church’s teaching, and guide its direction. Steve and Wade serve as teaching elders alongside our ruling elders.

Diaconal Team

Our diaconal team helps Waypoint respond to practical and material needs with mercy. Our deacon and deacon assistants care for people facing hardship and encourage the congregation to serve those who might otherwise be overlooked.

Counseling Assistance Intake Form

Women’s Care Team

The Women’s Care Team helps foster a culture of care among the women of Waypoint. They offer prayer and a trusted place to talk, walk alongside women through life’s joys and difficulties, and help the elders care well for the whole church.
